Black rental tam with degree color band and old gold silky tassel, black gown with degree color velvet panels & chevrons, and academic hood. Degree title is indicated by the color of the velvet trim on the hood. Gown, hood and tam must be returned immediately after the commencement or you may purchase the gown for $299, the hood for $119 and the tam for $45. Students will be charged full price for the gown,hood and tam if not returned immediately after the commencement where directed. UTMB pays for gown & hood rental. School of Medicine pays for MD rental tams.
GSBS uses black souvenir mortarboards. Rental tam option is available and recommended @$42.99.
DNP students pay for rental tam.
Individual schools pay for rental of gown and hood.
Only School of Medicine students may order more than one outfit to allow a Special Hooder(s) to hood them during the ceremony. These Special Hooder orders must be placed under "Faculty/Staff Doctor Rental Set". Special Hooders must be approved in advance by the School of Medicine Student Affairs Office and will be required to wear full regalia to participate in the ceremony. Please be certain to include in the comments section of the checkout the name of all Special Hooders so their regalia will be properly labeled for the distribution.
